Region: Barossa Valley
Grapes: Grenache
First Glance: Raspberry, Perfumed, Fine Tannin, Bright
The Wine:
Sourced from two vineyards established in the 1940's and 1960's. 60% whole bunch ferment and only very gentle hand plunging.
This Grenache is characterised by its perfume; white flowers, ripe raspberry and a dusting of baker's spice. A subtle, savoury earthiness weaves purposefully through the silty, gypsum-like tannins to provide a framework to house the abundance of bright, red berry fruit. As pretty as a flower, this wine is built for drinking.
